I don't want to defend Sony, but how is that different in any way to what Microsoft do on their XBox consoles with their marketplace, or Nintendo with their own storefront on the Switch?

"Sony will no longer accept new PlayStation Vita game releases on the PlayStation Store from this summer, despite the store itself continuing to remain open"

For a handheld console that was released almost 10 years ago, I say it's not that bad from Sony. That is, if they warned devs sufficiently ahead of time, and let those who had something cooking see it through and actually release it. After all, we live in an age where smartphones are so popular and powerf...

I don't get why so many people still relish that console. A poor games library of about only 636 titles (if memory serves), one of the worst designed controller ergonomically ever, just so they could fit that silly useless tamagotchi-like gizmo in it to satisfy the whims of some dumb otaku nerds, no CD or DVD playback contrary to the PS2 or XBox...and worse of all, just like the Sega Saturn before it, you had to be japanese or have the japanese version of the console imported, because if ...

Why don't they run those wacky japanese commercials in the west?

Wha---t? For real?

Cool! But where is Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II? Shouldn't it have been bundled in, esp. considering Nintendo fans never got it on the GameCube back then, contrary to PS & XBox fans?

I really want to play that game, dammit, hurry up with the patches and dlc already. And reprint new copies. In its current state the "vanilla" game weighs over 100GB, and there's apparently close to 50GB-worth of patches to download, which is far more than I can find space for on my PS4 Pro.

Didn't know the PS Vita could run PS2 games. That's one less excuse for Sony not making it possible on the PS3 (except for a tiny handful of titles), PS4 (same), and PS5...

It's good that MS are doing that and giving credit where credit is due. GG Microsoft. I wonder if they do that for each PS exclusive and if that's why they decided to go on a buying spree, though. I can imagine how testing each and every PS exclusive would leave them traumatized for life and have them proceed with signing cheques left and right to buy studios and publishers and media groups without realizing they would never recoup all that money.

Also, I wonder if ...

Then make that buyout of Housemarque & Bluepoint Studio happen, for a start.

If they ever come up with a sequel, please let it be developed by a japanese dev, like Arc System Works or something, and be high res 2D. Japanese developers may not have a clue about how to make a good open-world game, but when it comes to versus fighting games or shoot'em ups, mama mia!

That's great, but I don't understand: it says it's a Firefox plugin that allows him to do that, yet he's using Google Chrome?

Damn, I need to hurry to complete my collection of PS3 games, esp. when it comes to the Time Crisis 4 bundle with the gun and the HD Remasters collection (Jak & Daxter trilogy, Silent Hill trilogy, etc). Also, I need to rebuy that Tekken 6 bundle with its joystick cause some punk I hadn't invited in my home stole the USB key for the stick. Little wanker, I'd *$#"^çù! the f*ck out of ya...

Sony, market this? ROFL, you think they care about this or any other game that devs give them the privilege to develop for their platforms, or what? That company is run by a bunch of autists. Not anywhere near as much as Nintendo, who are absolutely the worst of the worst, but certainly a heck of a lot more than Microsoft.

TV and the internet are completely polluted by commercials and ads so I shouldn't complain when it comes to that, but for once I wouldn't say no ...

I gotta say, didn't see that one coming. This is how Sony should ALWAYS be.
Now, of course the PS3 Store will actually close at some point in the more or less foreseeable future, but this gives us a lot more time to prepare for it, and hopefully gives Sony time to think of a way to migrate those PS3 games on the PS4/PS5 Store.

"If you want to play Outriders or MLB: The Show 21 on PS5, you’re looking at $60 and $70 respectively."

FFS, I'm sick of reading that argument everywhere on US websites these days: when you pay 60$ or 70$ to purchase a game on the PS4 or PS5, you OWN it. Fair and square. On the XBox with GamePass, you will be spending 10$ each and every month you want to play, say, MLB The Show 2021, which I suppose if you're American and love baseball you'll play at l...

Buying games full price is sometimes easier said than done, esp. when you're in Europe, where new games usually have a retail price of 70€... that's 83,87US$, for the folks in that great nation who complain about having to pay 60US$ now for their games (I believe?)

If HW makers & publishers actually converted prices, that would work out to 50€, and would be a lot more tolerable ofc. Then, what do you know, some games this gen even have a retail price of 80€ on t...

What a trash console that was. Twice the power of the PS1 on paper, and yet almost all of its games looked way uglier than PS games, for some reason, with extremely muddy textures and more fog than in Silent Hill. Piss-poor reliability of the PS1 aside, I left Ninty to board Sony's ship back then without looking back...
